Pool Rules & Safety Regulations
General Rules

Follow Staff Direction: Please follow all instructions provided by aquatic staff and adhere to posted signage. Lifeguards have the final authority on-site to ensure safety.

Incident Reporting: Report all injuries, incidents, or safety concerns to aquatic staff immediately.

Medical Conditions: Patrons with serious medical conditions (e.g., seizure disorders, heart conditions) are strongly encouraged to consult a physician prior to using the pool.

Prohibited Conduct: Running, fighting, or any behavior likely to cause injury is strictly prohibited. Violence, foul language, intimidation, and abusive behavior will not be tolerated.

Substance Policy: Persons under the influence of drugs or alcohol are not permitted in the facility.

Diving & Flips: Diving is permitted only in designated areas. Flips or back dives from the pool deck are strictly prohibited.

Food & Glass: Food, gum, and glass containers are not permitted on the pool deck or in the change rooms.

Lane Etiquette: Swimmers must stay on the right side of the lane and swim continuously, except at the pool ends or as indicated by signage.

Emergency Procedures: If a lifeguard blows their whistle for an emergency, please exit the water immediately and follow all staff instructions.
Health and Hygiene

Shower Requirement: All patrons must shower thoroughly before entering the pool.

Illness & Open Sores: Patrons experiencing flu-like symptoms, diarrhea, vomiting, head colds, or ear/nose discharge should not enter the pool. Access is also restricted for those with open sores or bandages.

Attire: Clean, appropriate swim attire is required (e.g., non-transparent material covering the genitals). Underwear is not permitted as swimwear.

Diaper Policy: Infants, toddlers, and persons with incontinence must wear a leak-proof swim diaper and/or elastic swim pants under their bathing attire.

Footwear: Outside footwear must be removed before entering change rooms or the pool deck. Non-slip, supportive deck footwear is recommended.

Mobility Devices: Outside mobility scooters or wheelchairs are not permitted on the pool deck. Please consult staff for facility-compliant alternatives.

Hygiene & Grooming: Spitting or nose cleansing is prohibited. Personal grooming (nail clipping, shaving, hair dyeing) is not permitted anywhere in the facility, including showers, saunas, and steam rooms.
Supervision of Children

Active Supervision: Children aged 7 and under must be accompanied in the water and remain within arm’s reach of a parent or guardian (minimum 16 years of age) at all times.

Supervision Ratio: The maximum ratio is three children (aged 7 and under) per one parent or guardian.
Change Rooms

Privacy: Patrons must remain clothed in the universal change room unless they are within a private change cubicle.

Accessibility: Designated accessible change rooms are reserved for persons with disabilities.

Security: Please lock all belongings. The City of Greenwood is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Photography and Electronics

Recording Devices: To protect the privacy of our guests, the use of cameras, smartphones, or any recording devices is strictly prohibited in the facility without prior City approval.

Zero Tolerance Zone: Recording devices are strictly prohibited in change rooms and washrooms at all times. No exceptions.
