The 1913 Road Tunnel was underneath the CPR trestle. It was used until 1964 when a new double tunnel replaced it.


A walk around the beautiful downtown core of Geeenwood reveals wonderful heritage buildings which are still in use providing tourists and locals alike with food, beverages, baked goods, Antiques, collectables and much, much More.

Historically the Streets of Greenwood were alive with activity due to the areas rich mining and cultural heritage. Don't forget to take a walk along the side streets, Historical buildings and natural history abound in the downtown core area of Greenwood BC.

The first three buildings starting on the left are the two-story guess block building built in 1899 and now home to the Copper Eagle Cappuccino and Bakery; next to it, the red-brick three-story building is the Greenwood Inn, originally the Windsor Hotel, also built about 1899 and home to the City's pub today.

The next three-story building was the Pacific Hotel, built in 1907 and later during the Second World War was used as the #-1 Internment Building housing more than 200 Japanese-Canadians.
